“The Members News Letter that is Informative and
Proactive on Domestic Violence”

“Women have always been the guardians of wisdom and humanity which makes them natural, but usually secret, rulers. The time has come for them to rule openly, but together with and not against men”. -- Charlotte Wolff

Welcome to the first monthly edition of THE FINA BELLA JOURNAL. Because this is the first time this News Letter has been electronically produced, let's begin by explaining what THE FINA BELLA GROUP is all about.
Firstly lets start with the explaination of the name Fina Bella. This name was carefully chosen. Fina means in the Hebrew form "The Lord judges" and is short for Seraphim, meaning fiery one in Latin. Bella means in Hebrew "My God is a vow" and is short for Isabella or Annabella. It is also the Italian and Spanish feminine adjective for 'beautiful'. I chose it because I believe a woman does not have to lose her femininity in her quest to be taken seriously, achieve what she wants to achieve, show she is strong in her convictions, is independent and that she has intelligence. The italics form was used to denote moving forward to a better life with the color font red to indicate passion, strength, stop the violence, anger, the needless amount of blood that has been spilled because of domestic violence, what an abuser sees when he/she is in an abusive rage and the urgency (red alert) of society to be rid of this issue.
There are three web sites that comprise The Fina Bella Group. They are, www.finabella.net , www.finabella.org and www.finabella.ca. Each site is linked, but individually they have a distinctive reason to exist. The overall theme is Domestic Violence. Statistics indicate that this issue will affect 33% of women at least once in her life time and also at any given time, there are 20 – 25% of the female population in a domestic abuse situation of one form or another.
